Environmental Affairs welcomes back SA Agulhas II, 7 Feb

SA Agulhas II returns from Antarctica

The Department of Environmental Affairs will welcome back the SA Agulhas II, as she returns from Antarctica on Wednesday, 7 February 2017, at the East Pier Quay, V&A Waterfront Cape Town.

Aboard the vessel will be the SANAE 55 expedition team, DEA’s supporting team, members from the National Department of Public Works, as well as scientists and researchers from various tertiary institutions.

Furthermore, the Department’s scientists from the research section will also be returning after having successfully developed a long-term monitoring programme to use seabirds as bio indicators of ecosystem change in western Droning Maud Land, Antarctica.
