Pretoria: President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that South Africa will send envoys across Africa and globally as part of diplomatic efforts to tackle migration challenges confronting the nation. The announcement followed official talks between President Ramaphosa and Kenyan President William Ruto during the Kenya State Visit to South Africa.

According to South African Government News Agency, President Ramaphosa detailed plans to engage other countries on migration issues, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to address the root causes of migration. He stated that envoys would be deployed not only across the African continent but also worldwide to foster understanding and collaboration on migration-related matters.

President Ramaphosa highlighted the importance of broadening international cooperation, stressing that migration is a collective challenge requiring a coordinated response. The discussions with President Ruto underscored the significance of continental cooperation in finding sustainable solutions to migration and regional stability.

The diplomatic outreach aims to address public concerns regarding illegal migration and undocumented migrants in South Africa. President Ramaphosa acknowledged that South Africa's attractiveness as a destination for economic opportunities necessitates collaboration with countries of origin, transit, and destination to address the economic and social factors driving migration.

During the State Visit, both Presidents Ramaphosa and Ruto agreed that addressing migration pressures requires strengthening regional integration and cooperation, tackling unemployment, inequality, and underdevelopment across Africa.
