Mpumalanga: The Chairperson of the Human Resource Development Council, Deputy President Paul Mashatile, is set to officially launch the Gert Sibande Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) lab and Centre of Specialisation Millwright Workshop in Mpumalanga Province on Tuesday. This launch is a key step in the government's strategy to enhance skills development in response to the evolving needs of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
According to South African Government News Agency, the initiative underscores Gert Sibande TVET College's dedication to preparing students with technical and artisan skills that are essential for the future, while also reinforcing industry partnerships and aiding South Africa's economic development. The project is backed by several important partners, including Sasol, National Skills Fund, and Festo, showcasing a joint effort to improve vocational education and training across the nation.
The event will see the Deputy President accompanied by the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Buti Manamela, Acting College Principal, Ms. ZZ Beku; the District and Local Municipality Mayors, as well as senior government officials. This collaborative endeavor signifies a pivotal moment in elevating the standards and reach of vocational training in South Africa.
