Stolen vehicle recovered five years later

NELSPRUIT – Crime Intelligence driven operation in Standerton led to the recovery of the vehicle a white Toyota Etios worth about R85 000-00 which was stolen five years ago.
Police Crime Intelligence Unit in Standerton gathered information and employed the services of Standerton K9 to conduct an operation.
Investigation led the two disciplines to a house in Meyerville in Standerton where the suspicious vehicle was spotted.
Upon police arrival, the possible suspect ran away evading arrest.
Investigation on the vehicle with no registration numbers was conducted and it was positively identified as the vehicle stolen in Centurion, Pretoria in Gauteng province on May 2018.
The vehicle was confiscated and taken to Standerton SAPS.
Currently police are still on the lookout for the suspect and hopes to bring him to book soon.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela applauded the excellent work conducted by the members and further called on community members to alert police on any suspicious criminal activities. “The suspect might have evaded arrest for now, but with all resources we have at our disposal, surely with no time the suspect will be traced and arrested” said the General.
