Public Works and North West Sign Agreements for Pilanesberg Airport Redevelopment

Rustenburg: Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson, North West Premier Lazarus Mokgosi, and Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality Mayor Dinah Pitso will sign two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) at Pilanesberg Airport. The agreements aim to expedite infrastructure delivery and enhance service delivery throughout the province.

According to South African Government News Agency, the signing event will also feature the North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Wessels Morweng, and the MEC for Public Works and Roads, Sempe Elizabeth Mokua. The first agreement will involve collaboration between Infrastructure South Africa (ISA) and the North West Provincial Government's Department of Community Safety and Transport Management. This partnership will focus on providing project preparation and packaging support for the redevelopment of Pilanesberg Airport, following a fire in 2023.

The second agreement will bring Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality into Infrastructure South Africa's Presidential Adopt-a-Municipality Pilot Programme. Through this initiative, the municipality will gain technical support to enhance project preparation, planning, and implementation readiness.
